Protest til den iranske ambassade i Danmark

This to let you know, that we are appalled at the death sentence of Sakineh Mohammadie Ashtiani for committing ‘adultery’.

This to express our utmost disgust at sharia laws, which allow the barbaric act of stoning and deprive women of their basic human rights.

Enclosed please fine a copy of our letter to the Danish prime minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen and the Danish foreign minister, Lene Espersen concerning this matter.

‘ Stop islam’s war against women

An 42-year old Iranian woman, Sakineh Mohammadie Ashtiani in the prison of Tabriz is awaiting execution.

She has been condemned to death for infidelity. According to the law of sharia she should be stoned, but thanks to international pressure the stoning sentence has been repealed. But the death sentence has not.

Sakined Mohammedie Ashtiani’s admission of guilt was obtained by giving her 99 lashes. She later retracted it. That this could happen in the year 2010 - and not 1010 - in a UN member country is hard to believe.

The whole civilized world sees sharia as a breach of international human rights conventions. Its laws are the expression of an islamic war on women, a war also practiced in the family as ‘honour killings’ and nationally as deadth sentences passed by inhuman bigots.

We appeal to the Danish government,  The European Parliament and The Council of Europe to put maximum pressure on the Iranian government to release Sakineh Ashtiani just as we appeal to the Danish government to grant her asylum in Denmark’.
